Reign of Darkness Part 2: A Villian Rises? by: Pimpin' Pik (What? I have a girlfriend!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, so I've deviated from the generic writing style of DGF/Pioneer, that is I'm not using first person. I've found that although 3rd person is helluva hard to write in, it allows for much better description and there isn't as harsh a transition when a scene from somewhere else takes place. Another thing you might have noticed is this is a very dark series. One last thing, yes, Outlaw Star is about the only show I've been watching lately, that is where the bounty hunter theme came from. Care to name all the quotes I've used thusfar? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Outside the planetary shield of the sovereign planet of Coruscant, a wooden ship appeared out of Hyperspace. Imediatly, the ship took on the form of a Repubilican Missle-Wing. "This is the Roam to Coruscant sheild controll, requesting permission to enter Coruscant air-space." Within seconds a nervous looking officer appeared on the foreward viewscreens, "Yyyesss sir, Ad.ad.ad.Admiral Doss!" Ray sat back in his pilot's seat, glad that these young members of the Rebulican Armed Forces still know of the battle-hardend veterans of the Galatic Civil War, like himself. "Imperial Tower, I would like permission to meet with Councilor Organa-Solo." Ray walked down the halls of the senate building with ease. He felt awkward wearing his Admiral's uniform, but that was the cost of being able to go anywhere in the city. He tapped slightly on the door as he walked into the office of his long time friend, "Hey, Leia, how's it going?" The concilor looked up in with a funny look on her face, but lept from her chair as she saw who it was with her. "Ray! It's been so long," she smiled as she wrapped him in a big hug. "You've grown up so much, how old are you now, really?" Ray tried to smile, but he couldn't do it, his heart wasn't in it anymore. "Twenty-five. Alot has happened since I left this dimension. But, that is not for now. My friend, I just wanted to tell you I am here. I wish I could tell you more, but my story is too violent even for your knowing ears." With that, Ray turned and vanished. Abbie had taken the time to wander around this new world. In all of the time she had known Ray, this was the one dimesion he spoke the least of. She couldn't see why, it was nice enough. Millenia ahead of her own world, but seemed to lack the environmental conciousness of her own. The giant buildings shot high into the sky, but, she couldn't see the bottom of any of them. Wandering around some more, she found a small hill sticking up in a square. The plaque read, "Here lies the only accessable portion of Coruscant's surface, the tallest natural landform on the planet." She stood back up and looked down at the summet that came up to her knees. "Wow, this is an industrialized planet!" A hand fell on her shoulder, "Yes, it is. This was the place I served my first mission in. I grew to love this dimension, and it's inhabitants." Ray was dressed much more casually than he had been earlier. "I think it's time to find a tap-caf and make some money." After a short while, Ray found out about a large localized bounty near his area of Coruscant. Finding it, he stepped in the bar and smiled, there was an empty seat beside his target. The bartender took his drink order and eyed Ray cautiously. The target snarled, "Don't you think you'd better find a better place to sit I've got a 2 million credit bounty on me for murdering more people than you know." Ray looked ahead with a blank face, "I know, I'm here to kill you." The stranger roared in anger, "You couldn't kill me if you tried!" The man went to draw his gun, but the bartender gave him an evil look. "You know the rules, no fighting in the bar." Ray got out of his seat and walked to the door, waiting the comming battle. "Ready to die?" Ray smiled wickedly, "Don't you think you had better ask yourself that?" The target flung his cape off and drew a lightsaber. Ray called forth his own sword. Ray let the man charge and attack. But when the lightsaber passed across Ray, it cut nothing but air. "You'll have to be faster than that." The man tried again and again, to no avail. Finally, the man gave out and began to gather his energy in a desperate final move. "DEATHCALLER!" The man transformed into a super-human. "What? He can transform? Well, time to show him the power of a true super-human: ULTIMATE CHOSEN ONE!" Ray's hair extended and his armor morphed into that of his higher form. Tying his hair up with his bandanna, Ray drew the Blade of the Chosen One. "Do you really want to continue this pointless battle? If you can transform, you have the ability to sense inherent power, and you must be from another reality than this. And if you can use the Vortex, you know the name Supreme Destroyer Ray Doss: Chosen One!" The man took several steps back, then grinned, "Yeah, I know the name, but you're not him. Doss has that blasted Sword of Darkness, I don't see that sword in your hand. SO EAT THIS IMPOSTER: CALLING BLAST!" The energy beam fired cleanly missed Ray, but when it hit the building behind him, the building came to life. Ray lept into the air and angled himself down toward Deathcaller. Taking his sword in his hand, Ray shoved it into the fabric of time and space. "Okay, you want to bring something to life, then I'll take yours: ARC OF DESTRUCTION!" Exclaiming the name of his move, Ray swept his sword in an arc, launching a cresent-shaped tear in the Vortex. Deathcaller smiled and held up his hands, then somehow reversed the direction of the attack. Ray was in such a state of shock, he didn't have time to dodge the comming blast. The attack hit him square in the chest, flinging him back into the waiting arms of the now alive building. "I told you, you should have just walked away, but you didn't. Now, I must kill you." The creature holding Ray began to slowly tighten it's grip on him. "I've got to do something or I'm done for," thought Ray as he tried his best to think of an idea. Suddenly, the seven rings on his fingers flared up. "NO, THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WAY!" Without warning, the alley grew much darker as an evil prescence descended upon it. Ray was able to use the confusion caused by this to escape his prison. Holding his hands in front of him, he focused the dark-Vortex energy on one spot. "With the power of evil, corruption, and hate. I summon forth, THE SWORD OF DARKNESS!" Slowly out of thin air, the dark blade appeared in all it's evil glory. Ray swung it in a few test attacks, then glared down at his opponent. "You wanted to kill me, but you understimated me. Now, you must die for your insolence! I order upon you DESTRUCTION THAT RAINS FROM ABOVE!" The Sword of Darkness glowed with a dark light as it lauched out hundreds of small beams that peppered the ground underneath it. Deathcaller felt each blast that hit him. When he was able to stand to his feet, he looked up at the figure towering above him, "So, you are the Chosen One. I give up, I surrender. I'd rather rot in a prison I can escape than die at your hands. Please, oh good and righteous being, show me mercy." Ray helped the man to his feet, then ripped the arm he was holding off. Ray then kicked him in the stomach as hard as he could, pushing his foot through the man's gut and out his back. "Mercy is for the weak. So by asking for mercy, you have proven how weak you really are." Deathcaller looked to his missing shoulder, then held his good hand to his torso and looked upon the blood there, "But, you're you're, you're supposed to be good." Ray grabbed the man by his collar and held them face to face. "Supposed it the operative word." Ray swung his sword for the final blow, but as Deathcaller opened his eyes, he saw that Ray had dropped the sword and held his head in agony. "WHAT IS THIS POWER? I DID NOT COMMAND THIS TO HAPPEN, SO WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!" The Sword of Darkness vanished as a light appeared on Ray's hands and forehead. First, his crystals appeared and glowed, then shattered. In their place appeared three crosses. As the crosses began to glow with brighter light, Ray's armor faded away, and in it's place arived a white robe. His hair shortened, but stood straight up and glowed as it made of pure energy. Without wanting to, Ray completed the transformation by exclaiming, "WARRIOR OF THE CROSS!" Abbie ran out as she heard the anguished screams. The first thing she saw was the brilliant light emmiting from one person. She covered her eyes slighty and dropped her jaw as she suddenly recognized the person. Ray was too busy looking at himself to notice her, it had been five years since the first and only time he had completed his transformation to Warrior of the Cross. But it was different this time, this was his own power, not what had been channeled to him by God. He then noticed he didn't have the hood covering his face in shadow, but his head was exposed and his hair was glowing. Abbie came up and stood in front of him, just as shocked as he was, "Ray, how did you..." "I don't know. I used the Sword of Darkness, and then felt an even more evil presence around me. Out of nowhere I became Warrior of the Cross. But, I'm not sure I like this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who said I can't write dark-fics?
